A few more, if there's room

Similar spots worth knowing about — easier alternatives or good swaps, picked with two generations of walking pace in mind.

Royal Park Rajapruek

Closer to the city than Queen Sirikit (20 min vs. 40). Has a shuttle tram and wheelchairs on request — an easy swap if Mae Rim feels far.

Wat Umong

A shaded, mostly-flat temple built into a hillside with old brick tunnels to explore. A quieter alternative to the crowds at Doi Suthep.

Baan Kang Wat

A small, relaxed artist village near Wat Umong — cafes, handmade crafts, resident cats. Good low-key afternoon for mixed ages.

Bhubing Palace

Rose gardens and glasshouses near Doi Suthep — easy to combine with that morning. Flat paths, 20 baht entry, dress code applies.
